The applications for the MORU–OUCRU Discovery Research Academy (MODRA) are now open from 3rd March to 25th April 2025.
MODRA is a 18-month programme designed to support early- to mid-career postdoctoral researchers in South and Southeast Asia in securing competitive research funding and advancing their careers in global health and infectious diseases. Through expert-led training, personalised mentorship, and funding support, participants will develop essential skills in grant writing, project management, leadership, and more.
The mission of MODRA is to nurture the next generation of scientific leaders in the low- and middle-income countries of South Asia.
Eligibility & Application
Applicants must:
- Be nationals of Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, or Vietnam
- Hold a PhD and be at an early- to mid-career stage in infectious diseases or global health research. (PhD students who have not yet received their PhD and senior researchers who are leading their own research groups are not eligible)
- Be affiliated with a research institution at the above-mentioned countries and committed to full participation
- Supporting documents, including a cover letter, CV, proof of English proficiency, and a supporting letter from your line manager
