Dr. Rongpong Plongla is a clinical instructor of infectious diseases at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital and Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand. After he finished his medical degree and fellowship training in infectious diseases at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, he received the master’s degree in Infection Biology from Uppsala University, Sweden, as well as the American Board of Medical Microbiology and CPEP fellowship training in Medical and Public Health Laboratory Microbiology at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA.

He is interested in mechanisms of resistance, rapid diagnostics, diagnostic stewardship and therapeutic options against multidrug resistant Gram-negative bacteria. He also involves in antimicrobial stewardship program and has special interests in human pythiosis.
