Associate Professor Darshini Ayton is a leader in health and social care research, serving as Deputy Head of the Health and Social Care Unit at Monash University's School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. A National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Emerging Leader Fellow, Darsh spearheads ageing and health services research, with a focus on dementia prevention, innovative diagnostics, and integrated care models that bridge acute, community, and residential aged care.
She is a Chief Investigator on an NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence and is the lead investigator for projects funded by the Australian Research Council, Medical Research Future Fund, and National Centre for Healthy Ageing. Darsh’s extensive collaborations with industry, health services, and aged care providers ensure her research has real-world impact.
With expertise spanning qualitative research, consumer and community engagement, clinical registries, randomised controlled trials, and implementation science, Darsh has built a robust track record of advancing evidence-based care and improving quality of life for older Australians.
